BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

The following is the basic core of the Association's programs:
  • Protecting employment rights through representation and negotiations.
  • Supporting programs to improve member economic welfare.
  • Promoting and safeguarding education and working conditions.
  • Keeping the members informed through newsletters, websites, and email.
  • Enhancing professional development through leadership training.
  • Seeking public support of schools by advancing the cause of public education.

GOALS & ACTIVITIES

Our goals are to improve our working conditions and benefits through the collective bargaining process (defined under Nevada law NRS 288) so our members can be better employees and create a safe learning environment for these students.
  • ECSSO officers are elected by their members to represent the organization.
  • ECSSO officers represent members at statewide association meetings.
  • ECSSO officers represent members at local district meetings.
  • ECSSO is affiliated with the National Education Association (NEA) and the Nevada State Education Association which has over 25,000 members in Nevada. Of that number, over 7,200 are support staff members.
  • ECSSO members elect all representatives.
